Break the Cycle with Conscious Communication
You love each other but you just can't seem to talk to each other anymore.
Every conversation somehow ends up in the same place. Someone shuts down. Someone escalates. Someone says something they can't take back. And afterward, you both feel further away than before you started.
You still care about each other but your nervous systems are having a completely different conversation underneath the words.
This is a session for couples who are tired of the cycle and ready to communicate better.
This is for you if
You keep having the same argument with different words
One of you shuts down
The other pursues and keeps pestering for resolution, answers, or to ‘win’ the fight
You feel like you're speaking different languages
One of you walks on eggshells because you know how quickly things can escalate
You've read the books, tried the scripts, maybe even done couples therapy, and the pattern keeps returning
You don’t feel heard
At some point, you’ve even wondered if this is worth saving
What's actually happening
Most couples believe their communication problem is a language problem.
But communication breakdown is almost never about words.
It is a nervous system problem.
When we feel threatened in relationship, the part of the brain responsible for empathy, nuance, and conscious communication goes partially offline.
We are no longer two adults having a conversation. We are two nervous systems in survival mode, each one trying to protect itself from pain.
This is why the same argument keeps happening. It's not stubbornness or incompatibility. It's two bodies that have learned to feel unsafe with each other, responding the only way they know how. These are old relational patterns resurfacing.
The repair begins with safety in the body.
What I don't do
There are no communication formulas in session with me. No scripts to memorise, no rules to follow, no techniques that feel awkward and artificial or ridiculous the moment you try them at home.
My work goes underneath the conversation to the nervous system patterns that are running it. We work with the parts of each of you that learned to fight, flee, freeze, or perform in order to stay safe in relationship.
We meet those parts with curiosity and compassion, not correction.
What happens in session
One hour of gentle, body-mind somatic and inner parts healing work
nervous system settling and co-regulation so both partners can actually hear each other
somatic awareness and sensation tracking to notice what's happening in the body underneath the words
inner parts psychotherapy to meet the parts that escalate, shut down, or go silent
safe guided presence work to create genuine connection
practices you can take home that are grounded in your bodies rather than a script
What people experience
A conversation that goes somewhere new for the first time in a long time.
The ability to feel the other person's experience rather than just defend against it.
Less reactivity and more genuine response.
The shutdown partner finding their voice.
The escalating partner finding their ground.
A felt sense of being on the same team again rather than on opposite sides of a war neither of you started.
A different way of being with each other.
Clear, open, and grounded communication.
The ability to express needs, desires, boundaries in safety
Most couples wait far too long to ask for this kind of support. By the time they arrive, the patterns are deeply embedded.
But the nervous system is remarkably responsive when given the right conditions.
Book below and you'll receive a calendar link to choose your time, online or in person on the Gold Coast.
